The key visual and first promotional video (PV) for the “Jigoku Sensei Nube” (Hell Teacher Nube) TV anime, based on the original work by Shou Makura and Takeshi Okano, have been officially revealed. Along with this, additional cast members and staff have also been announced.

The anime is set to premiere in July on the nationwide TV Asahi network within the “IMAnimation W” programming slot. These latest updates were unveiled during a live broadcast event titled “Open Lesson of Class 5-3 Doumori: New Anime ‘Jigoku Sensei Nube’!” on February 28. The key visual showcases Nube standing in front of Doumori Elementary School, holding an open sutra while revealing his demon hand. Behind him, the students and teacher Ritsuko appear frightened.

In this anime adaptation, Ryoko Shiraishi will voice Hiroshi Tateno, Aya Suzaki will take on the role of Kyoko Inaba, Tomoyo Kurosawa will voice Miki Hosokawa, and Ryota Iwasaki will portray Katsuya Kimura. Meanwhile, Shiho Kokidome will voice Makoto Kurita. For characters outside of Class 5-3, Aya Endo will play Ritsuko Takahashi, the teacher of Class 5-2, Ai Kakuma will voice Yukime, a mysterious girl who claims to be Nube’s fiancée, and Toshiyuki Morikawa will play Kyosuke Tamamo, Nube’s greatest rival. Notably, Toshiyuki Morikawa is reprising his role as Kyosuke Tamamo, a character he previously voiced in the original “Jigoku Sensei Nube” anime. The first PV also features dialogues from the main characters.

Production Staff

The anime will be directed by Yasuyuki Oishi, with Yoshiki Oogusa as the series composer, Yuu Yoshiyama as the character designer, and Evan Call composing the music. Additional comments from the cast and staff have also been released.

“Jigoku Sensei Nube” follows the story of a spiritual teacher named Meisuke Nueno, known as Nube, who possesses a demon hand and fights supernatural entities to protect his students. The manga was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump (Shueisha) from 1993 to 1999, while its first TV anime adaptation aired from 1996 to 1997.
