Japanese vocalist Sou, one of the most influential artists to emerge from the utaite scene, has released his new digital single “Q.E.D.”, accompanied by an official music video. Known for his emotionally rich and expressive vocal style, Sou continues to expand his global presence, currently boasting over 1.69 million YouTube subscribers, approximately 620,000 followers on X, and more than 2.5 million total followers across platforms.

“Q.E.D.” serves as the opening theme for the currently airing TV anime Arne’s Case Files, perfectly capturing the series’ mysterious and suspense-driven atmosphere. Written and composed by Yuri Kuriyama (栗山夕璃), the song features an enigmatic soundscape that heightens narrative tension, echoing the anime’s themes of hidden truths and unsettling certainty. The title “Q.E.D.”—derived from the Latin phrase quod erat demonstrandum, traditionally used to signify the completion of a logical proof—symbolizes the uneasy clarity that emerges once all pieces of a mystery fall into place.

The accompanying music video was animated by Nowoka (のをか), who previously collaborated with Sou on the music video for “Nero.” Presented as a whimsical yet eerie puzzle-solving story, the video follows a girl who wanders into a mysterious Western-style mansion and is challenged with riddles by its enigmatic owner. Viewers are invited to actively engage with the narrative by solving the puzzles themselves, ultimately revealing a hidden message when all answers are combined—an interactive approach that enhances replay value and audience immersion.

Sou began his career in 2013 by posting cover videos on Nico Nico Douga, quickly gaining attention for his emotional vocal delivery. He made his major-label debut in 2015 and has since collaborated with prominent creators such as Nayutalien, Harumaki Gohan, and Eve. His 2020 digital single “Mr. Fixer,” which served as the opening theme for the anime ID:INVADED, achieved remarkable international success by topping overseas streaming charts for four consecutive weeks, marking a major milestone in his global recognition.

After joining King Records in 2023, Sou celebrated his 10th anniversary with the live concert Orbit. In 2024, he released the album Sense of Wonder, followed by his largest-ever domestic tour and his first successful tour in China, further solidifying his presence beyond Japan. Through these milestones, Sou has established himself as a leading vocalist who continues to bridge internet-originated music culture with a growing worldwide audience.

“Q.E.D.” is also featured on Sou’s upcoming 5th full-length album Panorama, scheduled for release on March 4, 2026. The album will include a total of 12 tracks, featuring previously released digital singles alongside brand-new songs, and is positioned as a multifaceted sonic journey showcasing Sou’s continued evolution as both a vocalist and storyteller.

The music video for “Q.E.D.” is now available on Sou’s official YouTube channel, and the digital single can be streamed on all major music platforms worldwide.
